  Policies and Procedures    

California statue requires that a student, who successfully completes a course of study, be awarded an appropriate diploma or certificate verifying the fact.

Prospective students are encouraged to visit the facilities and to discuss educational plans with the school personal prior to enrolling or signing any enrollment agreement. Any written contract or agreement signed by a prospective student shall not become operative until the student attends the first class.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must demonstrate the ability to benefit from the educational programs.

  • Be over 18 years of age.

  • Possess a high school diploma/ GED or demonstrate ability-to-benefit.

  • Receive a passing score on the Scholastic entrance Exam

  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

  • Your Program Director will assist you in selecting the particular program to meet your needs.

STUDENT INFORMATION

All student information held in strictest confidence. Access to student files is limited to staff members and the school’s approving and accrediting authorities. Students may examine their files at any time during normal school hours. Student files may not be removed from campus grounds for any reason. If a student would like a copy of any of the information contained in their files, or a transcript, a written request may be made to the Program Director, Rolando Valera.

Personal information, counseling notes or financial information contained in students’ files will not be released to any outside party other than the student, the student’s counselor or rehabilitation representative without a signed release by the student.

GRADING SYSTEM

Satisfactory Progress
It is necessary for the student to maintain satisfactory progress in their course of study. Academic and attendance measure satisfactory progress. Academic and attendance is calculated at the end of each module of instruction per the requirement set forth below.

Upon completion of the entire course, the final grade will be determined by averaging the individual module final grades to come up with a numerical equivalent according to the following scale:

Colourgraphix provides a professional learning environment for all of its students.  Students are asked to dress for classes in attire that would be acceptable in a business office.  Smoking is prohibited inside the building.  Abusive language and profanity are not allowed.  Drugs, except for prescriptions, and alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the premises.

Colourgraphix provides a student lounge for meals and breaks.  There is no smoking allowed in the classrooms, bathrooms or in the lounge

Facility Specifications

Colourgraphix is located at  14180 Live Oak Ave Ste F, Baldwin Park, CA 91706.

The facility has 1 air-conditioned classroom for instruction and accessibility to the onsite print shop which has hands on training with the latest technology devices for desktop publishing and pre-prep., a student lounge, handicap accessible restroom facility, and a reception area.  Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 10 students per class.

Medical Information

All students are requested to complete a Medical Emergency Information form upon enrollment.  If there are any changes to the information requested on the form, please see the Instructor and update the form.  Please keep us informed of any changes in medical conditions, medications, allergies or related information for paramedics in the event of a medical emergency.

Attendance Policy

Students are encouraged to be on time and in attendance 100% of the scheduled class time in order to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for each program.

However, because emergencies do happen, the minimum attendance requirement is 85% attendance of scheduled hours of instruction to qualify for graduation from the program.

Absences will be considered excused under the following circumstances: illness, death, or birth in the immediate family, and other valid reasons substantiated in writing and at the discretion of the school director. 

Tardiness

Students are encouraged to be on time for class.  There is no exception for students tardiness. Academic and attendance measure satisfactory progress.  Academic and attendance is calculated at the end of each module of instruction per the requirement.

Record Retention Policy

Colougraphix acknowledges that student records shall be maintained for a period not less than five years at its main principal place of business in California.  Colougraphix 14180 Live Oak Ave., Suite F., Baldwin Park, CA 91706.

Graduation Requirements

Students must meet the following requirements within the maximum allowable timeframe in order to graduate from a course.
Achieve a total, overall attendance time of 85% of scheduled hours of instruction.
Pass all module final examinations and achieve a total, overall grade point average of 2.0 or “C” or better.
Fulfill all financial obligations to the school.

Certificate of Completion

Certificates of Completion will be awarded to all students who successfully fulfill the graduation requirements and complete an “exit interview” with the Placement Department.

Leave Of Absence Policy

A Leave of Absence from courses may be extended to students who require one for medical or other reasons.  Leaves of Absence are granted on an individual basis and must be requested in writing by the student and approved by the Director of Education.

Student Termination

Students may be terminated for any of the following reasons:

  • Failure to maintain satisfactory academic or attendance progress levels.

  • Failure to comply with the terms of probationary notices.

  • Dangerous or abusive behavior towards school personnel or other students.

  • Failure to attend classes for ten consecutive days without notifying the school.

  • Failure to return to school on the scheduled return date of a leave of absence.

  • Violation of school policies concerning alcohol/drugs or weapons.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL PREVENTION/AWARENESS PROGRAMS

Colourgraphix maintains a Drug and Alcohol free campus.  Drugs and Alcohol pose a serious health threat to students and the public at large.  The school strictly prohibits the unlawful use, sale, possession or distribution of drugs or alcohol by students and employees on the campus grounds or as part of any school activity.  If a student is found in violation of this policy, he/she will be subject to immediate termination and possible referral to the appropriate authorities for criminal prosecution as applicable under state and federal laws.
